We already offer around the world a range of products that are free of artificial colors around the world. And all of the ingredients we use in our products comply with our own strict internal quality and safety requirements, as well as all applicable laws and regulations. These ingredients always meet or exceed the requirements established by food safety regulators, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
Removing artificial colors from our human food products is going to be a complex task. Our human food portfolio features more than 50 brands, many of which are known for their vibrant colors. We expect it will take about five years to develop the full range of color alternatives that guarantee the integrity and great taste of the products you know and love.
Over that time, we’ll work with our suppliers to identify new ingredients and formulas, address all legal and regulatory requirements, and create ways to gather feedback from you throughout the process. As we make these changes, we’re dedicated to delivering the same great tasting products you love and providing transparency about our ingredients in our labeling.
